A financial services client of ours is looking for a Business Manager to join Lifetime Mortgages and support Head of Department. This role is key in driving strategic opportunities within Lifetime Mortgages and supporting the wider Retirement Solutions business area, as well as being the key driver for the overall strategic plan and budget for the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help to shape and manage the strategic and organisational priorities for Retirement Solutions, ensuring they support the delivery of the Group strategy
  • Prepare for and follow up on key meetings involving the MD (eg, Group Board and Subcommittees, Monthly ExCo, Business Review Meetings, Strategic Priority meetings) including:
  • Engaging senior leadership to frame the discussion and set expectations in advance
  • Reviewing papers and identifying issues before the meetings
  • Preparing appropriate briefing notes
  • Helping to ensure effective use of time (frame the agenda, nature of discussion to be had and appropriate timing)
  • Capturing action-oriented minutes
  • Following up as appropriate to confirm next steps/timetable
  • Work with the MD in framing and developing materials for use with ExCo, the Board and key external bodies (eg, presentations, framing projects, terms of reference to engage third parties etc )
  • Utilise external market knowledge and industry insight to inform both thinking and action at all times, maintaining a focus on commerciality
  • Maximise efficiency and effectiveness in working in collaboration with colleagues and in partnership with the wider business
