Harris Global are currently looking for an IT Service Manager to join our Financial Services client on an initial 6 month contract in their Edinburgh office (flexi working). The successful candidate must have management experience and specific knowledge around O365 & Cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the management of incidents and problems by the ITSO staff is effective.
  • Ensure the quality of change planning, and documentation is appropriate within the teams – following standards and recognising any periods of heightened awareness.
  • Understand the tasks involved in maintaining infrastructure availability such as capacity planning, monitoring and alerting, DR testing, process documentation and review the team’s performance in these areas.
  • Ensure that opportunities in the infrastructure area are sought and taken to maximise system availability and reliability
  • Maintaining a commercial awareness at all times to ensure maximum return on IT and change investment.
  • Addressing an increasing demand for IT and change services with limited resources.
  • Meeting an increasingly global demand for services, providing service around the clock for different global territories.
  • Ensuring IT and change services meet the increasing expectations of a technologically aware employee and customer base.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical and market knowledge in a constantly changing IT and change industry.
  • Effectively managing conflicting views and interests across organisational and cultural boundaries.
  • Engage and communicate with key business contacts to clearly articulate risks and benefits associated with different options.
  • Engage with Delivery Managers to secure resources when required for service priorities.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous Operational Technical Service Manager experience in a Digital Environment
  • Minimum of 5 years Operational experience overseeing Digital Services
  • Experience in a number of operational roles across a number of different areas within IT Service Operations
