Harris global are currently looking for a Technical Lead to join our global client on an initial 6 month contract. You will possess at least 10 years experience working as a Java Developer and have expert AWS skills.

80:20 split between leadership and hands on development. Candidates must have prior team lead experience.

This role will be fully remote and outside IR35!

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in design, implementation and operational activities supporting the platform
• Ensure that the code and other artifacts are well-structured, understandable and maintainable
• Work collaboratively with your peers, using pair/mob programming, code reviews and other techniques
• Take ownership of platform components that your team is responsible for
• Participate in operational on-call duties and incident management activities
• Define and apply best practices towards infrastructure management and software development
• Ensure that the platform is operationally stable and actively work towards improving its resiliency
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and engineering practices
• Mentor and guide more junior members of the team
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding activities

Must Have:

• Proven commercial experience as JVM ecosystem developer (10 years)
• Deep knowledge of full software delivery life cycle (design, development, testing, delivery, operations)
• Deep experience of distributed and cloud computing technologies and practices (AWS, NoSQL/SQL data stores, messaging platforms, security, performance, observability, SRE/DevOps etc.)
• Very good understanding of architecture/design styles, techniques and practices (Microservices, Event-driven Architecture, Test-Driven Development, Design Patterns, etc.)

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with managing cloud infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with system integration protocols and data formats (GRPC/Protocol Buffers, REST/JSON/HTTP, OpenAPI/Swagger, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Experience in Domain-Driven Design
• Fast learner and critical thinker with problem-solving skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English for both written and verbal communication
